CCR PPU Golf Outing to Elm Park on June 2018.
It was fantastic to see so many CCR Past men with their spouses and friends enjoy a wonderful days golf at leafy Elm Park golf club in Dublin 4, organised by the Dublin Branch of the Union on 22nd June. A big turnout on a beautiful sunny day ensured a full Timesheet from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m, followed by drinks and an excellent dinner in the clubhouse added to the enjoyment of the day. The trophies on offer to past men were hotly contested and included the Matt Hyland as main trophy and Peter Garvey cup for 18 handicap and over. The Noel Windle ladies trophy was also hotly contested. Visitor prizes were also on offer. The Elm Park golf course was in excellent condition and high scores were recorded.
The Dublin Branch golf outing is a key even in the branches annual calendar along with the Business Lunch and Annual dinner. It never disappoints as an enjoyable day for past men to meet up with their friends, network and bridge the gap in years between younger and older generations of past men. A big thanks is due to the hard working committee who organise these events each year.
This year saw more extensive use of Social Media in reaching out to past men to promote the event, which is a welcomed development. I encourage all past men to engage with their branch either through this social medial gateway OR through other more low tech routes if that is their preference.
The next event in the Dublin Branch calendar is the Business Lunch on 19th Oct. in Fitzwilliam Lawn Tennis Club. I look forward to meeting you there.
