Class of 1963 – 60 Year Reunion

15 members from the Class of 1963 gathered in MSJ Guesthouse last Saturday to celebrate their 60th class reunion.  They were welcomed by Dom Malachy Thompson, Abbot and the Union Secretary, Ms Katherine Donovan.  Thanks to Dympna and the Guesthouse staff who provided them with a delicious formal reunion dinner on Saturday evening and lunch on Sunday.  On Sunday morning, they attended Mass in the Abbey Church to remember their deceased classmates before being treated to a tour of the Walled Garden.  Thank you to Fr Aodhán and Paddy Smyth who facilitated this and intrigued them with tales of its past grandeur, its renovation project and plans for the future.  They then accompanied the Union Secretary on a tour of the College to reminisce on the friends and staff members who contributed to their experience of CCR in the early 1960’s.  Plans are already being discussed for a return visit in two years and we look forward to welcoming them back to the Guesthouse and the College on that occasion.
