Cistercian College Reunions

Class of 1960

Due to Covid restrictions at the time, the Class of 1960 were unable to celebrate their 60 year reunion back in 2020 but not to be outdone, their determination culminated in the organisation of our first official class reunion conducted entirely via zoom on Wednesday, November 16th.  The Union Secretary, Ms Katherine Donovan, joined the nine members of the Class of 1960 who logged on to the zoom meeting to reminisce about their time in CCR, their classmates and former teachers.  A minute's silence was observed for the deceased members of their group and for the monks of MSJ who are no longer with us.  To keep communications going between the group, they intend to set up a WhatApps Group, organise a lunch get-together next summer and maintain the zoom reunions on an annual basis.  Where there is a will, there is a way!

Class of 1962, 1972 and 1992

Congratulations to the Classes of 1962, 1972 & 1992 who gathered recently to celebrate their respective Class Reunions.  The Class of 1961 also gathered earlier this year to celebrate their 60 (plus 1) Reunion, which was postponed last year due to the Pandemic.  The Reunion Groups were welcomed to the College by the President, Mr Gavin Clark and enjoyed receptions in the College Refectory & Centenary Room.  They were joined on the occasion by members of the monastic community, current and retired members of staff and the President of the Past Pupils Union.  Head of Boarding, Mr Felix Ross, together with some of our senior students, provided tours of the College campus and the groups were amazed and delighted to see the upgrades, renovations and new facilities which our current students enjoy.  These Class Reunions are important events in the Union & College calendar.  They provide an opportunity for classmates to reconnect with each other and they are vital in promoting the life-long connection between the College and its alumni.  The College Management, staff and students are always delighted to welcome CCR pastmen and their families, whether at formal events such as Class Reunions or just a casual visit
